In 2023, Dr. Trevor Haynes, a podiatrist in the Portland Metro Area and owner of Elite Foot & Ankle Associates, saw a need for house call podiatry and wound care. During his previous years of practice, Dr. Haynes saw a lot of mismanaged wounds. The patients with these wounds to the lower extremity were only having dressing changes. Studies show that serial debridement is necessary for wounds to heal. Most homebound or patients living in a facility have a nurse come out and change the dressing three times a week. But they at times go months without seeing a wound care specialist. Someone that can debride the wound, dress the wound, apply skin substitutes to aid in healing, and properly offload the wound. Dr. Haynes has extensive training in wound care and treats wounds on a daily basis in his practice. We have the ability to assess you vascular status in home as well as other possible factors as to why your wound may not be healing. While our goal is wound care, as a podiatry based company, Dr. Haynes also provides in home at risk foot care. This can been things such as nail debridements, callus debridements, ingrowing nail removal, vascular testing, etc. Our goal is to make sure that even those that are homebound have the same access to care that everyone else has.
